Book Description Due in part to a growing demand for offshore oil and gas exploration, the development of marine structures that initially started onshore is now moving into deeper offshore areas.

Designers are discovering a need to revisit basic concepts as they anticipate the response behavior of marine structures to increased water depths.

Advances in Marine Structures deals also with the fabrication of ship structures, and collects the papers presented at the 3 rd International Conference on Marine Structures (MARSTRUCTHamburg, Germany, March ).

The book is divided into six sections: Methods and tools for establishing loads and load effects. In recent years significant advances have been made in the development of methods and modeling procedures for structural assessment of marine structures.

Various assessment methods are incorporated in the methods used to analyze and design efficient ship structures, as well as in the methods of structural reliability to be used to ensure the Advances in Marine Structures book by: ISBN: OCLC Number: Notes: Papers presented at the 2nd International Conference on Advances in Marine Structures held Mayin Dunfermline, Scotland in association with the Admiralty Research Establishment.

This book presents the latest advances in marine structures and related biomaterials for applications in both soft- and hard-tissue engineering, as well as controlled drug delivery. It explores marine structures consisting of materials with a wide variety of characteristics that warrant their use as biomaterials.
